Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive reflux esophagitis), treatment and prevention of relapse of Helicobacter pylori-associated peptic ulcers, relief of upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, prevention of rebleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers and maintenance therapy effects.
This drug is used for the treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive reflux esophagitis. It is also effective in treating and preventing relapse in patients with duodenal ulcers and gastric ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It is used to treat pain and discomfort in the upper gastrointestinal tract caused by the intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and is also helpful in treating gastric ulcers and preventing ulcers. It is used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers after intravenous administration. Overall, it is used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal-related diseases.
This drug should be swallowed with liquid, such as water, and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent relapse in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - Symptomatic treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. After 4 weeks.
Adolescents over 12 years - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease - Erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once a day for 4 weeks - Symptomatic treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 1 time daily
This drug should not be administered to certain patients. For example, those with allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to this drug or its ingredients, or benzimidazole derivatives should avoid taking it. Patients allergic to certain antibiotics (penicillins, macrolides) used in conjunction with this drug for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori should also not be given this medication. Patients taking certain heart-related medications or antiviral drugs, and breastfeeding women should not use this drug. Caution is needed in patients with a history of myocardial infarction. Various adverse reactions may occur when taking this drug. Commonly reported effects include headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and nausea, while rare adverse effects include blood disorders, neurological disorders, liver function abnormalities, skin rashes, and severe allergic reactions. Long-term use may cause electrolyte imbalances, such as hypomagnesemia, requiring regular monitoring. Additionally, since this drug suppresses stomach acid, there may be a slightly increased risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract. Long-term or high-dose use may increase the risk of fracture, so caution is warranted in patients at risk for osteoporosis. It is important to take this medication at the minimum dose and duration under the guidance of a physician. This drug may interact with other medications; therefore, particularly when taken with anticoagulants, antibiotics, antivirals, antiepileptics, etc., it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Data on the safety of this drug during pregnancy is limited, so it should be used cautiously under a doctor's judgment during pregnancy, and it should be avoided while breastfeeding. In case of overdose, since there is no specific antidote, treatment should be supportive according to symptoms, and this drug is not removed by dialysis. This drug should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis reactions/shock, severe allergic reactions, fever, angioedema, anaphylaxis, hypocalcemia and hypokalemia due to hypomagnesemia, mental confusion, aggression, hallucinations, bronchospasm, pancreatitis, hepatitis, jaundice, liver failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, eosinophilia.
Headache, dizziness, paresthesia, drowsiness, taste disorders, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, increased liver enzymes, angioedema, weakness, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, allergic reactions, chest pain, facial swelling, flushing, fatigue, fever, thirst.

This drug should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is best to keep it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
