If no effect is observed after 6 weeks of treatment with 400 mg daily, other treatment options should be considered. Acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea The recommended initial dose is celecoxib 400 mg, with an additional 200 mg on the first day of treatment if needed. This medication may pose a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding for individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. It can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, leading to serious problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke, so it is important to use the minimum effective dose for the shortest period possible. Severe gastrointestinal issues such as perforation, ulcers, and bleeding can occur, especially for elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, so caution is warranted. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or allergies, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, or active peptic ulcer disease should not take this medication. Patients with compromised liver or kidney function, asthma, heart failure, or hypertension should consult a doctor for careful use. This medication can cause various side effects, such as dyspepsia, headache, dizziness, skin rash, and cardiovascular symptoms; any abnormal symptoms should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. Regular blood tests, liver function tests, and kidney function tests should be performed during treatment to check for abnormalities. There are many interactions with other medications, especially with antihypertensives, anticoagulants, antidepressants, and lithium, so it is important to inform the doctor of any concurrent medications. It is safest for pregnant women or those who might become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, to avoid this medication; women planning to become pregnant should consult a doctor before use. Children and adolescents should not use this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established, and elderly patients should be particularly monitored due to the high likelihood of decreased kidney and liver function. In the event of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy, and respiratory depression may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers for quality maintenance.
