Treatment and prevention of recurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (e.g., erosive esophagitis), treatment of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcer, alleviation of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and related esophagitis, as well as the prevention of recurrence. It also helps in the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It effectively treats short-term gastrointestinal symptoms that may occur during the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and is effective for the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers in long-term users. It is also used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and is utilized as maintenance therapy following the prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. This drug is highly effective for the treatment and alleviation of symptoms related to gastrointestinal diseases.
This medication should be taken with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or treatment is ineffective, an additional 4 weeks of therapy is recommended. - Long-term maintenance therapy for prevention of recurrence: 20 mg once daily. - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
Adolescents 12 years and older. - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or treatment is ineffective, an additional 4 weeks of therapy is recommended.
This medication should not be used in patients who have hypersensitivity to specific ingredients or a history of allergies. Care should be taken, especially in patients with allergies to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics, or those on specific cardiovascular medications. Nursing mothers and patients with a history of myocardial infarction should not take this medication. This drug contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, which should be used cautiously in patients sensitive to this component. Rarely, various side effects such as blood abnormalities, allergic reactions, electrolyte imbalances, neuropsychiatric disturbances, and gastrointestinal disorders may occur during use. Regular check-ups are important to monitor health status during long-term use. This medication can suppress gastric acid secretion, thereby increasing the risk of certain bacterial infections; medical advice should be sought if diarrhea persists. Also, long-term use may increase the risk of fractures; caution is needed for patients at risk of osteoporosis. This drug may interact with multiple medications; anyone on other medications should consult a doctor or pharmacist. Safety data is limited during pregnancy; it should be used cautiously when necessary, and is not recommended while breastfeeding. There is no specific antidote for overdose; seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. Keep out of reach of children, and take care not to transfer to other containers.
