Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers, relief of upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, prevention of rebleeding in gastric ulcers.
This medication is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, and it is also effective as a long-term maintenance therapy for preventing recurrences in patients with esophagitis. Additionally, it is used for the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. It also helps in the short-term treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms due to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and in the treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is used for treating Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and in maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding of gastric and duodenal ulcers. Overall, it is an effective medication for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal disorders.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid, such as water, and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or the esophagitis is not resolved, continue for 4 more weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrences in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
Adolescents aged 12 years and older with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) should take 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks, for erosive reflux esophagitis treatment. As symptom control therapy, 20 mg once daily for 4 weeks.
This medication should not be administered to patients who have had allergic reactions to any of its components or who are hypersensitive to certain antibiotics. Various side effects may occur while taking this medication, and symptoms such as headaches, abdominal pain, and diarrhea are commonly reported.
