This medication is effective against skin infections caused by various bacteria including methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, etc. Its main indications include bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis, infectious eczema, and the treatment of infections in injury or burn sites. Therefore, this medication helps improve a variety of skin infection problems.

How to use

Adult use

Apply a small amount to the infected area 2-3 times a day for 10 days. The treated area may be dressed or sealed if necessary.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by certain patients. First, patients who have had allergies or hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its components should not use it. Also, patients with poor kidney function should avoid using this medication since the polyethylene glycol component may be absorbed through wounds and put a strain on the kidneys. It is also safest not to use this medication during pregnancy or in women who may become pregnant, as well as in nursing women. This medication should not be applied directly to the eyes or used in the nasal cavity. Prolonged use of this medication on torn wounds or damaged skin is not recommended. Animal experiments suggest it could potentially affect immune function, thus it should be used with caution. When using this medication, reactions such as warmth, itching, redness, stinging pain, and dryness may occur. Rarely, severe allergic reactions may happen, so if any unusual symptoms arise during use, the medication should be stopped immediately and a consultation with a physician or pharmacist is recommended. When using this medication, it should only be used for the minimum duration recommended by the physician to prevent bacterial resistance. Long-term use in conjunction with other antibiotics may lead to excessive growth of resistant microorganisms such as fungi, so caution is necessary. If symptoms do not improve after 3 to 5 days of use, consultation with healthcare professionals is essential. When used with antibiotics, severe diarrhea or gastroenteritis may occur rarely, so if diarrhea or abdominal cramps develop during use, the medication should be stopped immediately and tests should be carried out. When applying to the face, care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if the medication does get into the eyes, it should be thoroughly rinsed out with clean water. This medication is not used during cannula or central venous catheter insertion, and no side effects affecting driving or operation of machinery have been reported.
