Improvement of lipid levels in hypercholesterolemia (primary, mixed) and reduction of the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease
This medication can be used in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, particularly heterozygous familial and non-familial, as well as mixed dyslipidemia. This drug helps to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL cholesterol levels, alongside a dietary regimen. Patients at an increased risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia can manage risk factors through this medication. Prior to medication therapy, secondary causes such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and chronic renal failure must be identified and treated if necessary, and total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels should be monitored regularly. This medication should be taken alongside an appropriate diet and is used when diet alone is insufficient. Overall, this medication is effective in improving dyslipidemia and reducing the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease.
This medication is administered once daily regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, it starts at a dose of 10/5mg daily, and if necessary, it can be increased to a maximum of 10/20mg daily after checking blood lipid levels with an interval of at least 4 weeks.

While taking this medication, regular liver function tests and muscle enzyme tests should be carried out, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. This medication can interact with other drugs, so if you are currently taking other medications, it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Caution is particularly necessary when used in conjunction with certain antibiotics, antifungals, or immunosuppressants.
