This drug helps reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in the blood of patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, particularly heterozygous familial and non-familial hypercholesterolemia, and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing HDL cholesterol levels. It is used as an adjunct when dietary measures or other non-drug treatments are insufficient, and is particularly important for patients at high risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease. Before treatment, it is necessary to identify and address secondary causes of dyslipidemia, such as diabetes and hypothyroidism. Additionally, cholesterol and triglyceride levels should be continuously monitored during treatment to ensure appropriate management. This drug is effectively used in conjunction with proper dietary control to improve blood lipid levels.
