This medicine helps lower high total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, as well as decrease Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol, while increasing good cholesterol HDL cholesterol. It is primarily used as an adjunct to dietary therapy, and it is especially important to take it along with a diet that limits saturated fats and cholesterol intake. This medication should be used with caution in patients at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease, and other underlying conditions or the effects of medications should be assessed and treated as necessary. Additionally, blood lipid levels should be accurately measured before and after treatment to monitor the progress. This drug is used to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis through the treatment of dyslipidemia and to improve cardiovascular health.
