Precautions

This medicine should not be administered to certain patients. First, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients should not use it. Those with rectal bleeding of unknown cause should also avoid taking this medication. It is generally safe not to administer to patients with severe dehydration. Patients who have difficulty swallowing or those who must lie down, posing a risk of aspiration, should also avoid this medication. Caution is required as this medication may exacerbate symptoms in individuals with weak bowel function or acute abdominal conditions. Patients with intestinal obstruction or strictures should refrain from taking this medication. Those with hypercalcemia or kidney stones should avoid this medication as it may worsen their condition. Severe renal failure patients should also refrain from using this medication. The administration should be stopped if severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting occurs. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take it. Patients who need to limit calcium intake or are concurrently taking active forms of vitamin D should be cautious when using this medication. Patients taking cardiotonic glycosides that may impact the heart should also be careful when using this medication together. Patients who have undergone gastric surgery or are in a state of low gastric acid secretion may find its effects diminished. In cases of renal failure without dialysis, this medication should be used carefully as it may cause calcium deposits in tissues. Allergic reactions such as rashes or itching may occur while taking this medication, so stop use immediately and consult a healthcare professional if such symptoms arise. Additionally, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation may occur. Side effects such as liver dysfunction and blood cell count reduction have also been reported, so vigilance is necessary if atypical symptoms present themselves. This medication should be swallowed with plenty of water, as taking it without sufficient liquid may pose a choking hazard. If chest pain, breathing difficulties, or difficulty swallowing occurs, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication is an adjunct therapy that aids in symptom relief; therefore, if symptoms do not improve after 7 days of use, discontinue and consult a professional. Long-term use for more than three months requires careful observation for adverse reactions. When taking this medication with other drugs, it's advisable to maintain at least a two-hour interval between taking this medication and others, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medications while remaining in the intestines. Caution should be exercised when taken with certain antibiotics or acid suppressants due to potential interactions. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only after thoroughly considering its benefits and risks, and safety in children has not been adequately established. Older adults may require dosage adjustments due to weakened kidney function and susceptibility to hypercalcemia. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, and in its original container in a cool, dry place. Transferring the medication to another container may lead to misuse or quality degradation, so caution is advised.
