This medication is effective for joint inflammation such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis), and periarthritis of the shoulder. It is also used for pain relief caused by dental pain and inflammation following trauma, low back pain, sciatica, and nonspecific rheumatic pain. It helps treat various forms of inflammation and pain, improving the patient's daily life.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Aceclofenac at a dose of 100 mg should be taken twice daily at 12-hour intervals. This medication should be taken whole, not chewed or crushed. Adjust dosage according to symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, the lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages per day; therefore, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is a must. This medicine may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so patients with risk factors for heart disease, hypertension, or diabetes should use it with caution and only at the minimum effective dosage and for the shortest duration necessary. Serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations may occur, especially in elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disease, hence caution is required. Patients with active peptic ulcers or a history of bleeding, or who have had allergic reactions to this medication or similar drugs should not take this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, heart failure, pregnant women in late pregnancy, nursing mothers, and those with inflammatory bowel disease should not take this medication. Patients with a history of kidney disease, heart failure, hypertension, or liver disease should be more cautious when taking this medication and it should be taken under medical supervision. This medication may exhibit side effects such as dizziness, gastrointestinal disturbances, increased liver enzyme levels, and skin rashes; if any unusual symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is advised. This medication may interact with blood pressure medications, anticoagulants, diuretics, and antidiabetic medications; therefore, patients taking other medications must consult with their physician. This medication may be harmful to the fetus, especially in late pregnancy; women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant are advised to avoid taking it. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children and adolescents have not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is needed in its use. Elderly patients are at increased risk of side effects like gastrointestinal bleeding so they must exercise special caution while taking it. In case of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal irritation, hypotension, respiratory depression, and seizures may occur; immediate medical attention is required. This medication must be stored in a safe place out of the reach of children; transferring it to another container can affect the quality and is not recommended.
