Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms related to NSAIDs, treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, maintenance therapy for prevention of rebleeding from gastric ulcers.
This medication is used for the treatment of erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and for maintenance therapy to prevent long-term recurrence. It is also effective for symptom relief in gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is used in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori positive duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers and to prevent recurrence. It helps in treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms associated with NSAIDs (both non-selective and selective COX-2), as well as in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers. It is also applied in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy after preventing rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. Overall, it improves the treatment and symptom relief of gastrointestinal diseases.
This medication should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If esophagitis is untreated or symptoms persist, continue for an additional 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - For gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis:
Adolescents aged 12 years and older: - For the treatment of erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If symptoms persist, continue for an additional 4 weeks. - For the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis symptoms:
This medication should not be used in patients with specific allergic reactions or those taking certain antibiotics or medications. It is advisable for breastfeeding women and patients with myocardial infarction to avoid this medication. This medication contains yellow dye, so caution is required for those allergic to this ingredient. Various adverse reactions may occur during use, so if symptoms arise, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. It is important to monitor health status regularly through examinations during long-term use. It may interact with other medications, so it is crucial to inform healthcare professionals of any other medications being taken. Caution is advised during pregnancy, and use should be avoided while breastfeeding. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention is necessary as no specific antidote exists. Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic reaction, shock, fever, hyponatremia, hypomagnesemia, confusion, bronchospasm, pancreatitis, jaundice, hepatitis, liver failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, eosinophilia with systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), interstitial nephritis, Clostridium difficile.
Headache, dizziness, sensory disturbances, drowsiness, taste disturbances, blurred vision, vertigo, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, increase in liver enzymes, hepatitis, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, muscle weakness, interstitial nephritis, gynecomastia, asthenia, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea, abdominal.
