Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, patients who have a history of allergy to this drug or its components, patients with orthostatic hypotension, patients with severely impaired liver function, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should not be given this medication. Additionally, particular caution is required for patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, and patients who are taking specific antihypertensive or other medications. Especially when combined with alpha-1 blockers, there is a risk of orthostatic hypotension, so careful administration is necessary. During the use of this medication, side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, decreased blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, skin rashes, and dyspepsia may occur, so symptoms should be monitored closely. If loss of consciousness or a severe allergic reaction occurs, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. This medication can lower blood pressure, so caution should be taken to avoid overdose and to be careful of blood pressure changes when changing positions. Additionally, caution is advised when driving or performing hazardous tasks, as dizziness may occur. This medication has no indications for women or children, and in older adults, low doses should be initiated considering kidney function. When taking, do not chew the tablet or open the capsule, and it should be taken as directed. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents or certain antibiotics and antifungals, so it is essential to inform the healthcare professional of any other medications being taken. Furthermore, the symptoms of prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia can be similar, so it is necessary to confirm the presence of prostate cancer before administration. Finally, this medication may rarely be associated with priapism; if prolonged erections occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
