Adult dose

1. For removing intestinal bubbles during gastroscopy: Take 40-80 mg of simethicone orally about 15-40 minutes before the examination with approximately 10 mL of water. 2. For removing intestinal gas during abdominal X-rays: From 3-4 days before the examination, take 40-80 mg three times a day after meals or between meals. 3. To improve abdominal symptoms caused by intestinal gas: Take 40-80 mg three times a day after meals or at bedtime.

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which breaks down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, it is very important for patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria not to take this medication. Additionally, the daily allowable amount of aspartame is limited to below the WHO recommended level of 40 mg/kg, so it should be used in the smallest possible amount. For example, for an adult weighing 60 kg, the maximum daily dosage is 2.4 g. This medication also contains sodium metabisulfite, which can cause allergic reactions. Patients with asthma may be sensitive to this ingredient, so caution is needed, as severe cases can lead to life-threatening anaphylaxis or asthma attacks. Common gastrointestinal side effects may include loose stools, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pressure, and loss of appetite, and headaches may rarely occur. This medication contains sodium benzoate, which may cause mild irritation to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes, so caution is required. Before use, it is recommended to shake the medication well and mix it evenly. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children and kept in a dark, cool place with the lid tightly closed to avoid direct sunlight and moisture.
