Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, an initial dose of 10/5 mg per day is recommended. For patients requiring further LDL cholesterol reduction, the dosage may be adjusted. The maximum daily dosage can be increased up to 10/20 mg, and dosage adjustments should be made after monitoring blood lipid levels at intervals of at least 4 weeks.

This medication can rarely cause rhabdomyolysis, which can lead to acute kidney injury due to muscle tissue damage, so any severe muscle symptoms should be reported to a doctor immediately. It should not be used in individuals with allergies to any of its components, active liver disease, muscle disorders, severe kidney dysfunction, those who are pregnant or nursing. Caution is particularly needed for individuals with moderate to severe kidney impairment, those with hypothyroidism, individuals with a history of or family history of muscle disorders, alcoholics, certain races (Asian), and those taking other specific medications. This medication can affect liver function, so regular liver function tests are necessary for those with a history of liver disease or abnormally high liver enzyme levels. If symptoms like muscle pain, weakness, fatigue, or fever occur, consult healthcare professionals immediately, and blood tests may be necessary to check for muscle damage. This medication may slightly increase blood glucose levels, so patients at risk of diabetes should monitor blood sugar levels closely. There may be interactions with other medications, so any other medications being taken should be reported to a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are capable of becoming pregnant should use appropriate contraception while taking this medication and must stop taking it immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This medication is not recommended for use in elderly patients or children and requires special caution. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment should be provided based on symptoms, and liver function and muscle damage should be monitored. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.

Serious side effects
