This drug is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while raising the good cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol levels. It should be used in combination with appropriate dietary therapy in patients at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia, particularly when dietary or non-pharmacological therapy is insufficiently effective. Additionally, before treatment, it is important to test for secondary causes of dyslipidemia, such as diabetes and hypothyroidism, and treat them if necessary. Lipid levels should be regularly monitored, including total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, and additional tests may be necessary in severe cases. This drug effectively improves hyperlipidemia with systematic management.
