Improvement in hypertension blood pressure control
This medication is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension. It is effective in cases where blood pressure is not well controlled with monotherapy of S-Amlodipine or Olmesartan Medoxomil. This helps to manage blood pressure reliably, reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications. It is adjusted appropriately according to the patient's blood pressure condition to assist in improving health.
This medication is taken once daily, with or without meals, and it is recommended to take it at the same time each day (for example, in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 2.5/20 mg: administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 2.5 mg of S-Amlodipine (5 mg of Amlodipine) or 20 mg of Olmesartan Medoxomil monotherapy. - 2.5/40 mg
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Individuals with known allergies to this medication or similar class of drugs, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those with severe liver dysfunction, severe heart valve disease, bile duct obstruction, those undergoing kidney dialysis, those in shock, some diabetic patients, and those with severely impaired kidney function should not take this medication. In patients with hypotension due to insufficient body fluids or sodium, careful monitoring is necessary at the beginning of treatment as blood pressure may drop too low, and appropriate measures should be taken if hypotension occurs. Acute hypotension may rarely occur due to vasodilatory effects, so patients with severe heart valve stenosis should exercise caution. Patients with ischemic heart disease or congestive heart failure may experience exacerbation of symptoms when taking this medication, and should use it cautiously. Patients with impaired kidney function may be affected by this medication, thus regular monitoring is necessary. Patients with impaired liver function should exercise caution, as the metabolism and excretion of this medication may be delayed. Symptoms such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, drowsiness, palpitation, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, skin rash, muscle pain, edema may appear during treatment; any abnormal symptoms should be discussed with a doctor. This medication is not a beta-blocker, but caution is advised upon sudden discontinuation of a beta-blocker, as risks may arise; beta-blockers should be gradually tapered off. This medication may increase blood potassium levels when taken with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, or potassium supplements, and potassium levels should be frequently monitored through blood tests. Taking it with grapefruit juice may enhance the effects of the medication, so it is better to avoid this combination. It is generally advised not to use this medication during pregnancy; if planning to become pregnant, it is recommended to switch to another safe antihypertensive. In breastfeeding, this medication may pass into breast milk; thus, breastfeeding or the medication should be stopped. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, so it is best not to use it in this age group. Elderly patients may have decreased liver, kidney, or cardiac function, so they should start at a low dose and be monitored closely. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, increased heart rate, and vasodilation may occur, and immediate monitoring of cardiac and respiratory function in a hospital setting is necessary for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture. It is also advisable to keep it out of reach of children and not to transfer it to another container.
