Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with specific skin infections. For example, it may worsen symptoms if there are skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals. Additionally, patients with allergies to this medication or its components, patients with otitis externa with perforated eardrums, patients with ulcers or severe burns, patients with perioral dermatitis or acne, rosacea, pruritus around the anus or genitalia, and infants under 2 years of age should not use this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, breastfeeding women, children, the elderly, and patients with a history of allergy to the active ingredient propylene glycol should use this medication with caution. While using this medication, skin infections may occur; if symptoms of infection appear, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. A variety of skin side effects such as skin irritation, rash, itching, and dry skin may arise, and use should be stopped if these symptoms develop. Long-term use or extensive use may lead to steroid-related side effects such as thinning of the skin or blood vessel dilation. In such cases, it is necessary to gradually reduce the dosage and switch to another medication. Moreover, excessive or prolonged use of this medication can affect the hormonal balance of the entire body, requiring regular examinations. When used around the eyes, caution is necessary as it may cause eye diseases such as increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma. Generally, this medication is not used for eczema or dermatitis accompanied by skin infections, but if necessary, it should be used in conjunction with antibacterial or antifungal agents. Once symptoms improve, discontinue use as soon as possible. If symptoms worsen or do not improve, stop use. Pregnant or breastfeeding women may face risks from the use of this medication, so it should be used only when necessary, with special caution while breastfeeding. Children have a higher risk of side effects due to larger skin surface area relative to body weight, so long-term use should be avoided for more than 3 weeks, and care should be taken to avoid occlusive effects due to diapers. The elderly may be more susceptible to side effects, so special monitoring is needed when used in large amounts or for extended periods. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and should not be used for non-treatment-related reasons such as after makeup or shaving. When using occlusive dressings, be sure to use it under medical supervision and ensure the affected area is clean to reduce the risk of infection. Keep out of reach of children, and although long-term testing for the carcinogenicity or genotoxicity of this medication has not been performed, no mutagenic potential has been reported to date.
