This medicine is used when blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine or valsartan. It helps to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. This drug contributes to stable management of blood pressure by dilating blood vessels, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases related to hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this drug is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., morning). Used according to blood pressure control at doses of 5/80 mg, 5/160 mg, 10/160 mg, adjustments and restrictions should be made depending on renal and liver dysfunction.

The safety and efficacy of this drug in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and neonates when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with a known allergy to this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe renal or liver dysfunction, and patients with a history of certain heart diseases or angioedema should not take this drug. In patients with sodium or fluid depletion, hypotension may occur, so their condition should be carefully checked before administration, and if symptoms of hypotension occur during use, they should be laid down immediately and receive intravenous fluids if necessary. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking potassium supplements should have their potassium levels monitored frequently, and caution is also required for patients with impaired renal function. This drug should be used with caution in patients with heart failure, myocardial infarction, or severe liver dysfunction, and blood pressure and kidney function should be regularly monitored during treatment. Care should be taken when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. There may be interactions when this drug is used in combination with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium-sparing drugs, certain anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), and specific antibiotics, so consultation with a physician is recommended. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should not take this drug, and breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid it.
