Corticosteroids help alleviate itching and inflammation occurring in the skin. This medication is particularly used for skin disorders that respond to corticosteroids, soothing symptoms and reducing patient discomfort. It is mainly effective for skin inflammation due to allergic or autoimmune reactions. It also helps to reduce redness and swelling of the skin, supporting faster recovery. Thus, corticosteroids are used for easing itching and inflammation associated with skin disorders.

Precautions

This medication is a topical steroid used to help alleviate inflammation and itching. However, it should not be used in patients with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses, and it should also be avoided in cases of allergies to the drug or its ingredients. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid use in patients with ear diseases involving perforation of the eardrum, ulcers, severe burns, or certain skin conditions. It is safe not to use in children under 2 years of age. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children, and the elderly require special precautions, and patients who are allergic to propylene glycol should use this medication with caution. When using this medication, symptomatic skin infections may worsen, so treatment should be discontinued immediately and a physician consulted if any signs of infection appear. Long-term or extensive use may lead to thinning of the skin or dilation of capillaries, necessitating caution. Moreover, excessive or prolonged use may affect the hormonal balance in the body, which may require regular testing. Care is needed when applying around the eyes, as it can cause increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma; in case of blurred vision or visual disturbances, seek immediate medical attention. This medication should in principle not be used in eczema or dermatitis accompanied by skin infections, and if it must be used, infection treatment should also be carried out. Once symptoms improve, it is advised to discontinue use as soon as possible, and if symptoms worsen, usage should be stopped immediately. The safety of this medication has not been fully established for pregnant or nursing mothers, and it should be used under a physician's guidance only when necessary. In children, due to a larger skin surface area relative to body weight, the risk of side effects is higher, so prolonged use beyond three weeks should be avoided. Elderly patients may experience side effects more easily, thus more careful observation is required during use. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and should not be used for non-treatment purposes such as after makeup or shaving. Special methods such as occlusive dressings should only be carried out under a doctor's supervision, and the affected area should always be kept clean. Finally, store this product out of reach of children to prevent accidents.
