This medication is used for long-term maintenance therapy to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive esophagitis and to prevent its recurrence. It is also effective in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori when used in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It helps to treat upper gastrointestinal symptoms due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as well as preventing gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use. It is also used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding from gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers. Thus, it is widely utilized for the treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders and improves patient symptoms.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to specific ingredients or benzimidazole derivatives, or those who have experienced such reactions in the past.
