This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive gastroesophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If it is ineffective or symptoms persist, an additional 4 weeks may be given. - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment for GERD without esophagitis: 1 daily.
Children's dosage
Adolescents over 12 years 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive gastroesophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or treatment is not effective, continue for an additional 4 weeks.

This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive gastroesophagitis, as well as for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent the recurrence of esophagitis. It is also effective in treating and preventing recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori. Additionally, it helps in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is also used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy after the prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. Overall, this medication is widely used to treat various symptoms and diseases associated with gastrointestinal disorders.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to certain components or benzimidazole derivatives. Patients with allergies to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics should be cautious. Patients taking certain heart-related medications or with a history of myocardial infarction should avoid using this medication. Nursing mothers should not take this medication. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, so individuals allergic to this component should use it with caution. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been fully established, so it should be used with caution. There is no specific antidote in case of overdose; appropriate treatment should be given according to symptoms.
