Improvement of atherosclerotic symptoms and reduction of thromboembolism risk in acute coronary syndrome (cardiovascular anomalies) and atrial fibrillation (stroke, etc.)
This drug is used in patients with acute coronary syndrome, such as those with unstable angina or non-ST elevation myocardial infarction. It also improves atherosclerotic symptoms such as death due to cardiovascular anomalies, myocardial infarction, stroke, or refractory ischemia in patients who have received drug therapy or coronary intervention (PCI), and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Additionally, it is used to reduce the risks of stroke and thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation patients who possess one or more vascular risk factors and in whom vitamin K antagonists are inappropriate and bleeding risks are low. In summary, this drug is used for thrombus prevention and improvement of cardiovascular complications in specific cardiovascular disease patients.
1 capsule once daily.
This medication prevents blood from clotting and the formation of thrombosis. Taking this medication may prolong the time it takes for bleeding to stop, so if bleeding is severe or lasts a long time, you should immediately inform your doctor. You must inform your healthcare provider that you are taking this medication before undergoing surgery or dental treatment, or before starting any new medication. If you genetically metabolize the active ingredient of this medication poorly, the effectiveness of the medication may decrease, leading to more frequent cardiovascular problems, so caution is required. Taking certain medications in combination may increase the risk of bleeding, so do not use other drugs without consulting your physician. Those who drink alcohol heavily every day should consult a professional as there is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when taking this medication. This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to it or have specific bleeding disorders, severe liver dysfunction, renal impairment, or cardiac dysfunction. Women in late pregnancy or breastfeeding should also not take this medication. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or those with a tendency to bleed, as well as those with blood disorders, must exercise caution when taking this medication as the risk of bleeding is high. Patients scheduled for surgery should discontinue this medication 5-7 days before surgery and resume it only after hemostasis. The risk of bleeding is increased when this medication is used concurrently with other antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants, so concurrent use is not recommended. During the course of taking this medication, it is crucial to monitor for gastrointestinal symptoms or bleeding symptoms, and if any abnormal signs appear, consult your healthcare provider immediately. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years old, as safety and efficacy in this population have not been established. It does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery, but caution is needed due to the risk of bleeding. In the case of overdose, bleeding may become severe, and since there is no specific antidote, platelet transfusions may be required in case of bleeding. This medication should be stored at room temperature away from children and protected from air and moisture.
