This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive esophagitis, and to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It also helps alleviate symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is used for the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection, and is effective for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal symptoms and gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is also used in maintenance therapy to prevent re-bleeding of gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers and for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Overall, it is used to relieve symptoms, treat, and prevent recurrence of gastrointestinal-related diseases.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to certain antibiotics. Especially, nursing women or patients with a history of heart disease should avoid administration. This medication contains lactose, so it is not suitable for patients with lactose intolerance. Rarely, a variety of side effects such as blood abnormalities, allergic reactions, neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal disorders may occur during use; if abnormal symptoms occur, consult a physician immediately. Regular check-ups are needed for long-term use, and monitoring of magnesium levels is particularly important. This medication may interact with other drugs; be sure to inform your doctor of any medications being taken. Safety during pregnancy has not been fully confirmed, so caution is needed, and it is advisable not to use it during breastfeeding.   • Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), anaphylactic reaction/shock, angioedema, severe allergic reaction
  • Severe rash with high fever, skin peeling (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis), pain of mucous membranes in the mouth/eyes, erythema multiforme, mucous membrane syndrome, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), severe skin adverse reactions
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Mild side effects

Headache, insomnia, agitation, mental confusion, depression, aggression, hallucination, dizziness, altered perception, drowsiness, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, liver enzyme increase, dermatitis, itching, rash, alopecia, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, muscular weakness, interstitial nephritis, gynecomastia, asthenia, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea
