Precautions

This medication regulates the body's fluid balance and is particularly used in the treatment of enuresis or certain kidney diseases. However, in elderly patients or those with specific diseases, excessive fluid retention can lead to hyponatremia or coma, so care should be taken to drink only enough water to satisfy thirst. Patients with allergic reactions to this medication or those suffering from habitual enuresis, heart failure, or renal failure should not take it. Additionally, people with high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, pregnant women, children, and the elderly should use it with caution, especially if there is a risk of fluid and electrolyte imbalance. During treatment, side effects such as weight gain, headache, nausea, and cramps may occur, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. Fluid intake should be restricted for one hour before administration and eight hours after administration, and failure to adhere to this can lead to fluid retention or hyponatremia. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform your healthcare provider of any medications you are taking, especially when combined with certain antidepressants, diuretics, or steroids. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may have restrictions on the use of this medication, so consultation with a physician is necessary, and in cases of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, and cramps may occur, requiring immediate treatment.
