Improvement in blood pressure control of essential hypertension
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
The recommended adult dosage is 1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, to be taken with a small amount of water, regardless of meal. 1 tablet of Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg is applied when prescribed for blood pressure reduction.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Additionally, it should not be used in patients with allergies to any of the components or with a history of specific liver disease, kidney disease, or angioedema. Patients with electrolyte abnormalities, fluid depletion, renal and hepatic dysfunction, the elderly, and those with heart disease should use this medication with caution and monitor their condition continuously. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Potassium supplements or potassium-containing medications should not be taken without consulting a physician, and blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be checked regularly. This medication can interact with various drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is crucial to inform the physician or pharmacist. The hydrochlorothiazide component may make the skin sensitive to sunlight, so sun exposure should be avoided, and immediate medical consultation is necessary if any skin issues arise. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension or electrolyte abnormalities may occur, so it is essential to visit a medical institution immediately, and it should be stored in a place inaccessible to children and free from moisture.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attack, respiratory distress with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. Additionally, it should be kept in a cool place below 30 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness.
