This medication helps properly control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension for whom blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily. It can be taken with a small amount of water, regardless of meals. Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg can be taken as prescribed if needed. No dose adjustment is needed for patients with renal impairment (creatinine clearance of 30 mL/min or more). Patients with liver impairment should not exceed 80 mg of Valsartan per day.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with an allergy to any ingredient in this medication or with specific liver or kidney disorders should not take it. Caution is advised for patients with electrolyte imbalance, impaired renal or hepatic function, the elderly, and those with heart failure; regular blood tests and health status checks should be performed. This medication lowers blood pressure, which may result in dizziness or hypotension initially, so caution is necessary. Do not take potassium supplements arbitrarily; consult your doctor, and it's essential to periodically monitor electrolyte levels.
