Improvement of essential hypertension
Essential hypertension is a state of elevated blood pressure that occurs without a specific cause, and this medication helps control blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications and maintaining health. With consistent use, it stabilizes blood pressure levels, alleviating the burden on the heart and blood vessels, thereby improving overall vascular health. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.
For adults, the recommended starting dose is 10mg once daily, regardless of meals. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled at this dose, it can be increased to 20mg once daily, with a maximum daily dose of 40mg. The antihypertensive effect can be seen within 2 weeks of starting treatment, with maximum effect appearing around 8 weeks. If blood pressure is not controlled with monotherapy, it may be combined with thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide.
