Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcer, alleviation of gastrointestinal symptoms related to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
This medicine is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, as well as to prevent the recurrence of esophagitis. It also helps alleviate symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is effective in the treatment and prevention of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers in combination with antibiotics for Helicobacter pylori eradication. Additionally, it is used for treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to the administration of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including COX-2) and in the treatment of gastric ulcers, and for the prevention of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It is beneficial in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy after inducing prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. It is widely used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - For treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - For continued treatment of erosive esophagitis: additional 4-week course - Maintenance therapy for recurrence prevention: 20 mg once daily - For treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily
Adolescents aged 12 years and older - For the treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - For continued treatment: additional 4-week course - For gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 1 day
This medication should not be used in patients with known allergies to specific ingredients or drugs, or a history of such reactions. It should be avoided in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or those who are breastfeeding. This medication may cause various side effects, including headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rash, muscle pain, among others, so if symptoms are severe or persistent, consult a physician. If used for a long time, it is important to undergo regular examinations to monitor health status. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are currently taking medication, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Particularly, caution is required when taken with certain antibiotics or antivirals, and some drugs should be avoided in combination. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been fully established, so it should be used carefully as directed by a doctor. It is advisable not to use this medication while breastfeeding, as it may pass into breast milk. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment.
