Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with specific allergic reactions. In particular, it should be avoided in those with hypersensitivity to this medication, its components, or benzimidazoles. Furthermore, when used in conjunction with antibiotics such as amoxicillin or clarithromycin for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori, this medication should not be used in patients allergic to these antibiotics. Patients taking specific heart-related medications or antiviral agents, as well as breastfeeding women, should not take this medication. This medication can cause various side effects, with common symptoms including headaches, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Rarely, blood abnormalities, allergic reactions, liver dysfunction, and severe skin reactions can occur, so any abnormal symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with a physician. Long-term use may lead to electrolyte imbalances such as decreased magnesium levels; therefore, regular testing is necessary. Moreover, this medication lowers gastric acidity, which may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the stomach, so if diarrhea persists, medical personnel should be informed. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist especially if you are taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, antiviral drugs, or anticonvulsants. Caution is required as there is a risk of side effects due to changes in blood concentration when used with other medications. If using this medication during pregnancy, careful consideration should be given, and it is safest not to take it while breastfeeding. In cases of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment based on symptoms and general management is required, and it should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children. When using this medication, it is important to administer the minimum dose and duration as directed by a physician and to consult a specialist immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur.
