This medication is used to relieve symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux caused by excessive stomach acid.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For individuals aged 16 years and older, take 1 tablet (75mg) once, up to 2 tablets (150mg) per day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who have had an allergic reaction to any ingredient of this medication. If you have difficulty swallowing food or experience pain while swallowing, or have vomiting of blood or blood in stools, you must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If heartburn persists for more than 3 months or occurs with symptoms like dizziness, cold sweat, or lightheadedness, consult a professional. If you experience pain in the chest or shoulders with difficulty breathing, or frequent chest pain, unexpected weight loss, nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain, consult a professional before taking this medication. Individuals taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or with a history of drug allergies, patients with kidney or liver function issues, elderly patients, and those with a history of acute porphyria should also consult a professional before taking this medication. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women, as well as breastfeeding women, should consult a doctor before taking this medication, as it can cross the placenta or be transmitted through breast milk. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is important to consult a professional before taking it if you are on other medications. If symptoms worsen or persist during treatment, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor or pharmacist. It is recommended not to take this medication continuously for more than 14 days, and if severe side effects such as allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, heart problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological issues, or skin rashes occur, immediately stop the medication and inform a professional. This medication can mask symptoms of stomach cancer, so it should only be used temporarily for symptom relief. When taken with high doses of sucralfate, absorption may be reduced; therefore, it is important to space the doses by at least 2 hours. In cases of overdose, appropriate treatment such as vomiting or gastric lavage is necessary, and blood dialysis may be needed to remove the drug if required. Do not take with alcoholic beverages, and consult a professional if there are any changes in bodily function after taking the medication. Elderly patients or those with chronic lung disease, diabetes, or weakened immune systems may have an increased risk of developing pneumonia while taking this medication, so caution is advised.
