Precautions

This medication should not be taken by pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, as it may cause uterine contractions or congestion of pelvic organs, posing a risk of miscarriage or preterm labor. Breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication, as the active ingredients may pass into breast milk and cause diarrhea in the infant. People with acute abdominal conditions such as abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, appendicitis, or ulcerative colitis should refrain from taking this medication, as it may worsen symptoms. Caution is also needed for those with intestinal obstruction, as taking this medication may pose risks. Children under 3 years old should not take this medication. Patients with hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, or edema must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Older adults may have decreased bodily functions, hence should take the medication with caution or a reduced dosage. If taking other medications, experiencing diarrhea or loose stools, or having a sensitive stomach, it is advised to consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. Individuals with severe abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting should consult a doctor before usage, as those with very low stamina are at higher risk of side effects. It is essential to adhere strictly to the dosage and administration, especially noting that the effectiveness of the rhubarb ingredient may vary from person to person. Taking with potassium-containing medications or diuretics can lower blood potassium levels and may lead to muscle abnormalities; hence, it should be taken under professional guidance if combined. When taking with other herbal remedies, check for overlapping ingredients to prevent side effects.
