Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (reflux esophagitis, symptoms) and treatment of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms related to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and reflux esophagitis. It is also used for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. Additionally, it is effective in treating and preventing recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection. It is used for the treatment and prevention of ulcers related to gastrointestinal symptoms caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Furthermore, it is applied for maintenance therapy for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. Overall, it improves symptom relief and recurrence prevention of various digestive diseases.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks If not treated or symptoms persist, additional 4 weeks of treatment - Long-term maintenance therapy for preventing relapse: 20 mg once daily - Symptom treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: once daily,

This medication should not be used in patients allergic to specific ingredients or benzimidazole compounds. Caution is needed when administering to patients with allergies to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics in combination therapy. This medication should not be administered to breastfeeding women, patients with a history of myocardial infarction, or patients taking certain antiviral medications. The medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, and individuals allergic to this ingredient should use it cautiously. Rarely, various side effects such as blood abnormalities, allergic reactions, hypomagnesemia, headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, skin rash may occur; if any symptoms occur, consult a doctor immediately. Long-term use requires regular testing to monitor for abnormalities. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion and may increase the risk of bacterial overgrowth in the stomach; if diarrhea persists, inform the healthcare professional. Patients with osteoporosis or those on long-term treatment may have an increased risk of fractures and may require bone density testing. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially anticoagulants, antiviral medications, and anticonvulsants, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers if you are on these medications. Use during pregnancy is limited, and it is recommended not to take this medication while breastfeeding. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote; seek appropriate treatment immediately at a medical institution, and keep it out of reach of children.
