This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan. Maintaining blood pressure within normal ranges is crucial for essential hypertension, and this drug effectively lowers blood pressure, aiding in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this drug is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg. 5/160 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 160 mg.

Child dose

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to any components of this drug, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with severe kidney or liver disease should not take this medicine. Patients with low sodium or fluid should improve their condition prior to taking this drug, and there may be a risk of hypotension during treatment, thus caution is required. Patients with high potassium levels must frequently monitor their potassium levels when taking this medicine together with potassium supplements, and caution is also important for patients with weakened kidney function. When used in combination with other antihypertensive medications, this drug may increase the risk of hypotension, kidney dysfunction, and hyperkalemia, so it should be taken according to a doctor's instructions. Caution is needed as dizziness or fatigue may occur when driving or operating machinery. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension or tachycardia may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. Children and women planning to become pregnant should avoid taking this drug, while elderly patients can take it at standard doses. It is important to regularly check blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels while taking this medication to ensure no abnormalities are present.
