This medication is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

One tablet (70 mg effervescent tablet) once a week, taken at least 30 minutes before breakfast, food, beverages, or other medications. Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass (120 mL) of regular room temperature water. After effervescence has ceased, wait at least 5 minutes, mix the solution for about 10 seconds, and then take it. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking the medication and until the first intake of food.

Precautions

This drug may irritate the stomach and esophagus, so individuals with gastritis or esophageal disorders should exercise caution. Inflammation or ulcers may develop in the esophagus, which in severe cases could worsen to esophageal obstruction or perforation, so if you experience difficulty swallowing, chest pain, or heartburn, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. After taking this medication, do not lie down for at least 30 minutes, and it is essential to take it while sitting or standing upright. Abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, acid reflux, esophageal ulcer, vomiting, dysphagia, abdominal distension, gastritis, musculoskeletal (bone, muscle, or joint) pain, muscle cramps, headache, dizziness, taste disturbances, rash, pruritus, hair loss, symptoms of hypocalcemia, peripheral edema, dizziness, lightheadedness, uveitis, episcleritis, scleritis
