Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication can be used to more effectively manage essential hypertension when blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with either amlodipine or valsartan.
The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (for example, in the morning). Patients with renal impairment: For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance greater than 10 mL/min), dosage adjustment is not necessary; however, for patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 mL/min)
The safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, and thus the use of this medication is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to this drug's active ingredients or similar medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and those with a history of angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels in the body may experience hypotension, so it is important to check their condition before taking the medication and to carefully monitor blood pressure and symptoms during use. Patients with high potassium levels may experience increased potassium concentration when taking this medication along with potassium-containing drugs or supplements, necessitating periodic blood tests. Patients with vascular issues in the kidneys or those who have received kidney transplants should use this medication with caution due to the risk of worsening kidney function. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, or difficulty breathing occur during treatment, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical advice sought. Patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should closely monitor kidney function and blood pressure while taking this medication, and patients with acute myocardial infarction may experience worsening angina symptoms while on this drug, so caution is advised. Dosing for patients with liver dysfunction should be limited, and any signs of liver dysfunction should be reported to a healthcare professional. Care should be taken when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Taking this medication in combination with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, and NSAIDs can increase the risk of side effects due to interactions, so patients should consult with their doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this medication, and breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid it. The safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years old have not been established, and its use is therefore not recommended. In case of overdose, hypotension and heart-related problems may occur; thus, it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage and contact health professionals immediately if symptoms arise.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe allergic reaction, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, severe skin reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden onset conditions
