This medication is used only for patients who need to take the two drugs Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin simultaneously. Telmisartan helps in the treatment of essential hypertension and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It particularly lowers the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and mortality due to cardiovascular diseases in high-risk patients over the age of 55. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct to diet in patients with hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia, lowering both total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels, thus delaying the progression of atherosclerosis. It is also used in high-risk patients with risk factors for cardiovascular diseases to reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization procedures. Therefore, this medication is used to manage both hypertension and hyperlipidemia in order to improve cardiovascular health.
