This medication is used for joint-related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis), and periarthritis of the scapulohumeral joint. It is also effective in alleviating pain caused by low back pain, sciatica, and non-articular rheumatism. By reducing inflammation and pain associated with these conditions, it helps improve the patient's daily life. Therefore, it is widely utilized for the treatment of joint and musculoskeletal pain.

How to take

Adult dose

As aceclofenac, take one dose of 200 mg once daily. This medication should not be chewed or crushed but taken whole. To minimize cardiovascular adverse effects, it must be administered at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Precautions

This medication may cause gastric bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular events; thus, patients with a history of heart or cerebrovascular diseases or risk factors must use it cautiously, and the minimum effective dose and duration should be utilized. Serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastric bleeding, ulcers, or perforation may occur; hence, particularly elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases should use caution. Patients with active peptic ulcers or bleeding, those allergic to this medication or similar drugs, or those with asthma, heart failure, or severe kidney or liver diseases should not take this medication. Various side effects such as dizziness, gastrointestinal disturbances, liver function abnormalities, and skin rashes may occur, so it is important to immediately inform healthcare providers of any abnormal symptoms. This medication can elevate blood pressure or worsen heart failure; therefore, hypertension or heart disease patients should closely monitor their blood pressure and heart condition while taking it. During pregnancy, especially in late pregnancy, it may harm the fetus, so pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should avoid taking it, as should nursing mothers.
