How to take

Adult dose

Typically taken orally as 1 tablet, 2 times a day in the morning and before bed regardless of meals. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcer: Administer 1 tablet twice a day or administer 2 tablets once a day before bed. For patients with duodenal ulcers, taking 2 tablets, 2 times a day morning and before bed, is especially effective. For ulcers due to NSAID administration or during long-term use, the same dosage is used.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with poor renal function or those undergoing dialysis. Additionally, it should not be given to patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or its components, have a history of acute porphyria, have undergone upper gastrointestinal surgery, are pregnant or may become pregnant, premature infants and newborns, and patients on a potassium-restricted diet. Caution is required when using this drug in patients with poor liver function, a history of drug allergies, the elderly, those with previous renal function issues, and patients taking NSAIDs. Particularly, symptoms of gastric cancer may be hidden, so patients over middle age with gastric ulcer or new or changing dyspeptic symptoms should confirm the malignancy before treatment. Patients with Helicobacter pylori infection with gastric or duodenal ulcers require eradication therapy and caution should be exercised in critically ill patients, patients with hypophosphatemia, and those with swallowing difficulties. Rarely during treatment with this medication, allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, cardiac arrhythmias, gastrointestinal disorders, and neurological symptoms may occur, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if abnormal symptoms appear. Avoid long-term use, and if there is no therapeutic effect, switch to another medication, and routinely conduct blood tests and liver/renal function tests. The elderly or patients with chronic lung disease, diabetes, and those with weakened immunity may have an increased risk of pneumonia, and if dizziness or drowsiness occurs, avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, it is crucial to inform your doctor or pharmacist, and some drugs may need to be taken with an interval. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised against using this drug, and safety in children has not been established, so administration is not recommended. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment such as vomiting and gastric lavage should be given, and blood dialysis may be performed if necessary. Finally, this medication can reduce gastric acid secretion, which can promote bacterial growth in the gastrointestinal tract, and for long-term use, ocular examinations are advisable.
