Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, alleviation of gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
This medicine is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis. It also helps with symptom relief for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is effective in treating and preventing recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. It aids in treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use and in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers. It is also used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for preventing rebleeding caused by gastric or duodenal ulcers during maintenance therapy. This medicine is effective for various gastrointestinal-related conditions.
This medication should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Symptom relief for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily as needed.
Adolescents aged 12 and over 1) Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Symptom relief for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis.
This medication should not be administered to patients with a history of allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to certain antibiotics. Pregnant women or patients with a history of heart disease should also avoid using this medication. This medication can cause various side effects, including headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rash, and muscle pain. Rarely, blood abnormalities, severe allergic reactions, liver function impairment, and severe skin reactions may occur, so if abnormal symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. Long-term use may require regular monitoring, and caution should be taken due to potential issues like increased fracture risk and hypomagnesemia. Many interactions with other drugs may occur, so especially when taking with antibiotics, antiviral agents, anticoagulants, etc., it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy should exercise caution when using this medication, and it is safer not to take it while breastfeeding. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so symptomatic treatment should be followed as directed by a physician. Hives, angioedema, anaphylactic reactions/shock, angioedema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, DRESS syndrome, jaundice, liver failure, encephalopathy, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reactions, severe skin reactions, severe skin abnormalities, pulmonary edema, rhabdomyolysis, severe edema with hypertension, severe edema or urinary disturbances.
