Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive reflux esophagitis), treatment of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, and relief of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis. It also helps alleviate symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease even when esophagitis is absent. It is used in combination with antibiotics for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with Helicobacter pylori positive duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers, and is effective in preventing recurrence of ulcers. It also aids in the treatment and prevention of upper gastrointestinal symptoms and gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers caused by the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is indicated for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapies to prevent rebleeding after intravenous administration for gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. Therefore, this medication is widely used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases and associated symptoms.
This medication must be swallowed whole with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - If the esophagitis is not treated or symptoms continue, an additional 4 weeks of treatment - Maintenance therapy for prevention of recurrence in esophagitis patients: 20 mg once daily - Treatment of symptom relief for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis.
Adolescents aged 12 years and older - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - If esophagitis is not treated or symptoms persist, an additional 4 weeks of treatment - Gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, individuals who have had an allergy or hypersensitivity to this drug or its components, those allergic to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics, individuals currently taking certain heart-related medications, nursing mothers, those with a history of myocardial infarction, etc., should not take this medication. Caution is warranted when taking this medication as various adverse reactions may occur. Headaches, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rashes, muscle pain, and rarely serious allergic reactions or blood abnormalities have been reported. Especially with prolonged use, there may be an increased risk of hypomagnesemia or fractures, thus regular testing is necessary. This medication inhibits gastric acid secretion, which may lead to the proliferation of bacteria in the stomach, potentially slightly increasing the risk of gastrointestinal infections. Additionally, this medication has a high potential for drug interactions; therefore, if taking other medications, it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Safety data regarding use during pregnancy is limited; thus, caution should be exercised if pregnant or planning to become pregnant. In the case of nursing, it is recommended not to use this medication as it is uncertain whether this medication is transmitted through breast milk. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote; therefore, appropriate treatment should be provided based on symptoms, and caution is needed as this medication is not easily eliminated from the body. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may adversely affect product quality, so caution is needed.
Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic reactions, shock, hypomagnesemia, mental confusion, aggressiveness, hallucinations, pancreatitis, hepatitis, jaundice, hepatic failure, mucocutaneous epidermal necrolysis (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reactions with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), muscle weakness, interstitial nephritis, Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea, severe edema, severe.
Headache, dizziness, sensory disturbances, drowsiness, taste disturbances, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, increased liver enzymes, hepatitis, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, interstitial nephritis, gynecomastia, weakness, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea, allergic reactions, back pain, chest pain, substernal pain, facial swelling, facial.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from exposure to air or moisture. Additionally, it is best to keep the medication at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C, away from extreme heat or cold.
