This medicine is used for joint diseases such as knee osteoarthritis and adhesive capsulitis. It helps alleviate inflammation and pain in the joints, facilitating smoother movement in daily life.

How it is given

Adult administration

Generally, for adults, 1 vial is administered once a week for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint, but the number of administrations can be adjusted according to symptoms.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its components. It should also be administered cautiously to patients with a history of allergic reactions to other medications or patients with liver function issues or a past history of liver disease. Care should be taken if there are skin conditions or infections at the injection site, as there may be issues with the injection area. When using this medicine, severe allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock may occur; therefore, patients should be monitored closely, and if any unusual symptoms arise, administration should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be received. Also, if swelling, rashes, or itching around the face or eyes occur, the use should be discontinued. Temporary symptoms such as pain at the injection site, swelling, redness, warmth, and a feeling of pressure may occur. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fever may also rarely occur, so caution is advised. In the case of severe inflammation in the joint, this medicine may worsen the inflammation, so it is preferable to reduce inflammation first and then use it. After injection, measures to stabilize the injection site are helpful. This medicine must be injected precisely into the joint, and care should be taken to avoid leakage outside the joint as this may cause pain. Strict aseptic techniques must be maintained during injection, and if symptoms do not improve, administration should be limited to three times and then discontinued. If there is fluid accumulation in the joint, it is preferable to aspirate the joint fluid before administration. This medicine is not suitable for intravenous injection or for use in the eye. A syringe needle of size 22-23 gauge is recommended. Caution is needed when using it with sterilizing agents such as benzalkonium chloride or chlorhexidine, as it may cause the medication to precipitate. Women who are pregnant or could become pregnant should use this medicine cautiously, as its safety has not been established, only using it when the benefits outweigh the risks. Additionally, this medicine can be passed through breast milk, so breastfeeding should be avoided during administration. Safety has not been sufficiently established for children, so it should only be used cautiously when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may have diminished physical function, so caution is needed during use.
