If symptoms persist, continue for another 4 weeks. - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence: 20 mg once daily. - Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.

This medicine is used for the treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence and for symptomatic treatment. It also helps in the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. It provides short-term treatment for upper gastrointestinal symptoms resulting from the intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and is effective for the treatment and prevention of related gastric ulcers. It is also used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding from gastric and duodenal ulcers. Thus, it is effectively used for improving and treating various gastrointestinal disorders.

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to certain components or benzimidazole derivatives or those with a history of such experiences. In addition, patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics should not receive this medication when combined with other antibiotics for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. It should also be avoided in patients taking cardiac-related medications or certain antiviral agents, and in women who are breastfeeding or have a history of myocardial infarction. This drug contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, so patients with an allergy to this component should use it cautiously. During administration, various adverse reactions may occur, including headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, rash, myalgia, and rarely serious blood abnormalities or liver dysfunction may occur. With long-term use, electrolyte abnormalities such as hypomagnesemia may occur, requiring regular tests. Also, this medication reduces gastric acidity, which may increase the risk of infections, so if diarrhea persists, it is important to consult a doctor immediately. There are significant drug interactions, so any concurrent medications must be discussed with healthcare providers, particularly when used with warfarin, methotrexate, or clopidogrel. Safety during pregnancy has not been fully confirmed; it should be used cautiously when necessary, and it is preferable not to administer it while breastfeeding. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment and general management will be based on symptoms. Store out of the reach of children and do not transfer to other containers for safety.
