Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This drug is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapies to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. If blood sugar control is difficult and there is no previous experience with diabetes medication, it may be used alone. It can also be used as an alternative when monotherapy with metformin or sitagliptin is insufficient, or in combination with both drugs. This drug will be added to combination therapy when blood sugar control is difficult with metformin combined with sulfonylureas or thiazolidinediones. It is also used in combination with insulin and metformin if blood sugar control is insufficient. Therefore, this drug is used to improve blood sugar control in various cases of patients with type 2 diabetes.
