Adult dose

Generally, finasteride is given orally at a dose of 1 mg once daily, and it can be taken without regard to meals. Generally, treatment effects can be observed after taking it for more than 3 months, and continuous use is recommended to maintain the treatment effect. The duration of treatment and effectiveness should be evaluated continuously. If treatment is discontinued, the therapeutic effect will disappear within 12 months.

This drug should not be used by children or women. In particular, females who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle broken pieces of this drug, as it can be absorbed through the skin and may harm a male fetus. Since this drug is primarily metabolized in the liver, patients with impaired liver function should use it with caution. Additionally, depression or mood changes may occur during treatment, so mental status should be closely monitored. This drug may affect sexual function, causing decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and ejaculation disorders. If these symptoms occur, you should consult a doctor immediately. Fortunately, most symptoms disappear upon discontinuation of the drug. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not take this drug, and patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or specific genetic lactase deficiency should avoid its use. This drug may influence the risk of prostate cancer, so men over the age of 55 should regularly undergo screening and take it as advised by their physician. Serious interactions with other drugs have not been reported, but if you are taking other medications, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist. During treatment, if there are any changes such as lumps, pain, or discharge in the breasts, you should inform your doctor immediately. Additionally, there may be a reduction in the amount of ejaculation, but this often does not interfere with normal sexual function. This drug should be stored in a tightly sealed container, away from air, and should avoid moist places. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 15 to 30 degrees Celsius.
