This medication should not be used by certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients or with a history of hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema should not take it. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience worsening symptoms, so they should avoid this medication. Those with severe liver dysfunction should also refrain from use as this may increase blood concentration of the drug. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic disorders should avoid this medication. Patients with severe kidney impairment may also have increased blood concentration of this medication and should be cautious. In older adults, renal function decline is a potential concern, so caution is advised when administering. Patients taking certain medications such as antihypertensives, PDE5 inhibitors, or CYP3A4 inhibitors may experience interactions with this medication, so careful use is warranted. Especially, if taking alpha-1 blockers, this medication is generally not administered due to the risk of orthostatic hypotension; however, if necessary, careful monitoring is required. Caution is also needed for patients with a history of urinary syncope. This medication can cause a variety of side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness, blood pressure drop, palpitations, nausea, rash, among others. This medication may lower blood pressure, which can be dangerous in case of overdose; hence, adherence to the prescribed dosage is crucial. When getting up, blood pressure can drop leading to dizziness, so it's advisable to change positions slowly. This medication serves as a symptomatic treatment and if it proves ineffective, alternative treatment methods should be considered. Caution is advised during activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, due to the potential for dizziness and other side effects. In rare instances, this medication can cause severe side effects such as priapism, and if such symptoms occur, it is crucial to inform a doctor immediately. Patients scheduled for cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform their healthcare provider about the use of this medication. This medication may interact with certain antibiotics or other drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is important to inform the healthcare provider. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should refrain from taking this medication for safety reasons. Children under 18 years of age should not use this medication as its safety and effectiveness have not been established. Elderly patients should start at a lower dose after confirming renal function decline and monitor their condition accordingly.
