Additionally, it has the effect of reducing the necessity for prostate surgery, which may be required if needed. This medication is used for the overall improvement of prostate-related issues.

How to take

Adult dose

As finasteride, orally administer 5 mg once daily regardless of meals. Treatment for at least 6 months is required even if symptoms improve.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not handle broken pieces of this medication, as it may pose a risk to male fetuses. It may cause mental health issues like mood changes or depression, so patients should consult a healthcare professional if these symptoms occur. Patients with allergies to this medication or any of its components, women, children, and pregnant women should not take this medication. Patients with certain genetic diseases such as lactose intolerance should also avoid this medication. Caution is advised for patients with liver dysfunction. While this medication is generally safe, side effects related to sexual function may occur, and cases of erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and ejaculation disorders have been reported. Rare cases of issues associated with breast cancer have been reported with long-term use, although a clear correlation has not yet been established. Erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, decreased semen volume, ejaculation disorders, breast enlargement, breast tenderness, rash, muscle pain, weakness, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, testicular pain, hematospermia, male infertility, dizziness, headache, dyspepsia, constipation, gastrointestinal disturbances (heartburn), thirst, itching, numbness in both hands, fatigue, otitis media, liver function abnormalities, hypersensitivity
