Precautions

This medication helps control blood sugar. However, it may rarely cause serious allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty in breathing occur, you should immediately stop taking it and consult your doctor. Additionally, it can cause inflammation of the pancreas known as pancreatitis, so if you experience abdominal pain, vomiting, or severe abdominal discomfort, you should quickly visit a hospital. This medication should not be administered to patients with impaired kidney function, severe infections, or heart problems; especially patients with decreased kidney function should consult their doctor before use. You should temporarily discontinue this medication before using iodine-containing contrast agents for tests, and start taking it again only after confirming normal kidney function post-examination. It is safer for women who are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or nursing not to use this medication. During the intake of this medication, be cautious for symptoms of hypoglycemia, especially when taking it alongside other blood sugar-lowering agents, as there may be a higher risk of hypoglycemia, warranting regular blood sugar checks. Moreover, this medication may affect liver and kidney functions, so regular blood tests and kidney function evaluations should be conducted. Alcohol intake may increase the risk of side effects associated with this medication, so it is advisable to avoid drinking during treatment. If you undergo surgery or severe trauma, you should temporarily stop taking this medication and resume it according to the doctor's instructions after recovery. While taking this medication, you must consistently adhere to your dietary and exercise regimens; if any abnormal symptoms occur, consult healthcare professionals immediately.
