Relief of itching and inflammation in corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases.
This medication is used to relieve itching and inflammation associated with corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions. It reduces inflammation in the skin and alleviates itchy symptoms, thereby decreasing the discomfort for patients. This helps in maintaining the health of the skin condition, making it effective in the treatment of corticosteroid-sensitive skin diseases.
Apply thinly to the affected area once daily and gently rub until fully absorbed. Avoid occlusive dressings.
This medication should not be used in patients with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals, as it may worsen symptoms. Patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to this drug or its components should also avoid its use. Caution is required in patients with perforation of the eardrum, ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, as skin healing may be delayed. It is advisable not to use in patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, or those with itching around the anal or genital areas, as well as infants under 2 years old. Pregnant or nursing women, children, and the elderly should use this medication with caution, especially if allergic to propylene glycol components. Various skin side effects such as skin infections, irritation, rashes, and itching may occur, so treatment should be discontinued if conditions worsen. Prolonged use or application over large areas may lead to steroid-related skin changes or endocrine issues, so careful monitoring is necessary. When applied around the eyes, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, hence caution is advised, and if symptoms such as blurred vision occur, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional immediately. This medication is generally not used for eczema or dermatitis with skin infections, but in essential cases, it should be combined with antibiotics or antifungals. Even when used locally, it can be absorbed into the bloodstream, potentially affecting hormonal function, so regular evaluations are needed when using with occlusive dressings. Discontinuation should occur as soon as symptoms improve, and treatment should be stopped immediately if symptoms worsen. Pregnant women or those who might become pregnant should avoid large amounts or prolonged use, and caution is necessary during breastfeeding. Children have a larger skin surface area relative to body weight, enhancing the risk of side effects, so use should not exceed 3 weeks. The elderly may experience side effects more easily, necessitating special caution when using larger doses or over extended periods. This medication should not be used for ocular purposes and is not recommended for cosmetic use or after shaving. When using occlusive dressings, it should be done strictly under medical supervision, applied to clean lesions to reduce the risk of infection. Store out of reach of children to prevent safety incidents.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
