Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients with viral eye diseases such as viral keratitis, smallpox, or chickenpox. Patients with fungal eye diseases or mycobacterial infections in the eye should also not use this medicine. It should not be administered to patients with chronic blepharitis or hypersensitivity to this drug. It is advisable to avoid use in patients with corneal epithelial damage or corneal ulcers, as well as those with tuberculosis or purulent eye diseases. Patients with glaucoma or infants under 2 years of age should use it with caution. Long-term use of this medication can lead to increased eye pressure, causing optic nerve damage or vision loss, and glaucoma may develop; therefore, regular intraocular pressure checks are necessary. Moreover, serious infections like herpes simplex keratitis, fungal keratitis, and Pseudomonas infections may occur, and if abnormal symptoms arise, immediate treatment is required. Clouding of the lens may occur with prolonged use, and there is a heightened risk of secondary infections due to immune suppression. Acute purulent eye infections can worsen or be masked during treatment, so if inflammation or pain persists for more than 48 hours or worsens, usage should be stopped immediately and a doctor consulted. Contact lens wearers must remove their lenses before applying this medication and may reinsert them at least 30 minutes after instilling the drops. This medication may temporarily blur vision, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided until vision returns to normal. If infected with chickenpox or measles during the use of this medicine, it can lead to fatal outcomes; therefore, it is essential to check for history of chickenpox or measles and vaccination status before administration. Children, especially infants under 2 years of age, as well as patients taking CYP3A4 inhibitors, are at increased risk of systemic side effects and should be used with caution. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not use this medication for extended periods or frequently, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to discontinue nursing for the infant's safety while using this medication. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so they should be especially cautious when using this medication. This medicine is intended for use in the eye only and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the bottle tip with the eye during use. Shake well before use, and to prevent contamination, avoid sharing with others. Store in a tightly closed container out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight and keeping in a cool, dry place. Do not transfer to another container; store in the original container to prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the medicine.
