Improvement of gastrointestinal diseases such as treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, and relief of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms.
This medication is used to treat gastrointestinal ulcers such as gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It also helps relieve symptoms of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is applicable for long-term maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease and is prescribed in combination with antibiotics for patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori. It is effective for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This medication is used to treat various diseases of the stomach and esophagus and to improve symptoms.
Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer: Administer 10 mg orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, administer 20 mg orally once daily. Administer for up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If not treated, an additional 8 weeks of 10 mg or 20 mg twice daily orally may be given. Long-term maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease: Depending on the patient, administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily. Helicobacter pylori eradication: Patients infected with Helicobacter pylori should receive eradication therapy. It is recommended to co-administer this drug 20 mg with clarithromycin 500 mg and amoxicillin 1 g, twice daily for 7 days. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: The recommended initial dose for adults is 60 mg once daily. The dosage can be adjusted up to 120 mg daily as needed according to the individual patient's requirements. A dose of up to 100 mg can be given once daily, while a 120 mg dose should be divided into two 60 mg doses taken daily. Experience has shown that Zollinger-Ellison syndrome patients can be treated with this medication for up to one year. Patients with liver disorders: Adverse reactions of hepatic encephalopathy have been reported in patients with cirrhosis; therefore, cautious administration is necessary. Pediatric use: Safety and efficacy in children have not been established. Elderly patients: Caution is required due to often compromised liver function.
This medication should not be used in individuals with an allergy to certain components, especially those with hypersensitivity to benzimidazole, penicillins, and macrolide antibiotics. It is not safe for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Caution is needed in patients with compromised liver function or elderly patients. Allergic reactions such as rash, hives, or itching may occur during therapy; if these symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately. Regular blood tests may be necessary as blood counts of red blood cells or white blood cells may vary, along with elevated liver function values. Patients with heart or vascular issues should consult a doctor before taking it. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and nausea may occur, and in rare cases, severe gastrointestinal bleeding or pancreatitis may develop. Symptoms of the central nervous system such as headache, insomnia, and dizziness may appear; if these symptoms become severe, consult a doctor. Respiratory symptoms such as cough or difficulty breathing may occur, and in severe cases, pneumonia may develop; if symptoms worsen, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms such as myalgia, arthralgia, skin rash, and hair loss have also been reported, so monitor your condition closely for any changes. As this medication inhibits gastric acid secretion, long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures and can lead to hypomagnesemia; regularly check magnesium levels. Additionally, this medication may interact with certain drugs, so notify your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. Caution is required as drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, since there is no specific antidote, it is important to receive symptomatic treatment; do not chew or crush tablets, swallow them whole. Keep out of reach of children and avoid transferring to a different container. Regular checks for adverse reactions are necessary when using this medication over an extended period.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, rash, fulminant hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice, migraine, myocardial infarction, syncope, pulmonary embolism, ventricular tachycardia, thrombophlebitis, ventricular tachycardia, hemorrhagic diarrhea, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatitis, liver cancer, hepatic steatosis, hepatic coma, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), deep vein thrombosis, shock, anaphylaxis.

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is best to maintain a storage temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
